Estate
The Fuente Alcaide estate consists of dense woodland and clusters of chaparro bushes, with numerous ravines and slopes. The remaining part of the estate is dedicated to cultivated fields, with a considerable portion dedicated to olive groves. The varieties found on our estate include Hojiblanca, Arbequino, and Marteño Picual, with the majority of their production destined for commercial oil purposes.
However, Blanco extra virgin comes exclusively from the most select plots on the estate. In the highest part of Fuente Alcaide, at an altitude of 780 metres, where the earth is cool, the tree is more deep-rooted and growth is more vigorous, are the olive trees that the Blanco family selects for the very limited craft production of its extra virgin olive oil. Each season an exclusive and limited production of five hundred bottles of each variety, Arbequina and Hojiblanca, goes on sale.
The climate conditions, especially the presence or absence of rainfall, mark the olive’s ripening process. But the expertise acquired over the years by members of the Blanco family plays a crucial role in determining which plot the extra virgin olive oil will come from. Each year they choose a particular area of the estate, which must fulfil the demanding conditions of suitability for extracting the best extra virgin oil from those olive trees.
The olives are not harvested until the oil is about to be made; they go straight from the tree to the mill to obtain extra virgin oil of maximum fullness and freshness.
El aceite de oliva virgen extra es zumo de aceituna. El proceso, puramente físico, que sigue el virgen extra Blanco es el mínimo necesario para conseguir un producto de calidad extrema, embotellando un aceite en plenitud de sabor y aroma.
This limited and exclusive production is captivating ever more devotees of the finest extra virgin olive oil. Every season, five hundred bottles of each of Fuente Alcaide’s most exquisite Arbequina and Hojiblanca varieties go on sale: a culinary jewel capable of winning over the most demanding taste and the most delicate palate.
An image of a product designed by nature
For us, it was very important to be able to clearly and differently convey the quality of our extra virgin oils and the exclusive selection of our fruits in each harvest.
We wanted to visually translate this way of selecting the best terroirs of each variety in every harvest. To do this, in collaboration with Buenaventura studio, we drew inspiration from Matisse and his “papiers découpés.” From there, we cut out the selected terroirs for this campaign from a map of the Fuente Alcaide estate.
The graphic shape of each terroir becomes the image of each variety through adhesive labels, which, with their manual and random placement, allow us to express the artisanal character of the product.
We created a visual system that turns the brand into a blank canvas where the estate is expressed in each campaign. The color palette is an adaptation of Land Rover’s 80s paint catalog, a true icon of work in the Andalusian countryside. This palette will change with each new harvest.
In this way, we have achieved our own visual code that highlights the value of our exclusive way of producing extra virgin olive oil.
