Tradition

More than the circumstances of the extra virgin market, it was a personal concern to materialize everything we have learned during decades of working the olive tree, which led us to make the decision in 2013 to bottle our own extra virgin olive oil from arbequina and hojiblanco olive trees.

The fundamental idea that has guided the Blanco family in their own craft extra virgin production is that they do not mix different varieties and do not filter the oil. You have to bottle what the countryside gives you, in all its truth and purity. Blanco extra virgin olive oil is pure juice of the olive, young and fresh.

The natural conditions, the inexorable weather, determine the character of the oil each season. But human hands always have something to say if you stop to listen to what the countryside is telling you.

Every year, the Blanco family selects a specific patch of Fuente Alcaide to create its extra virgin olive oil, from which they release a limited edition of each of the two varieties, arbequina and hojiblanca.

Producing their own oil in this way began almost as a private operation, but the exceptional quality of Blanco extra virgin increasingly demanded greater sophistication in its packaging and distribution.

The production of Blanco extra virgin olive oil is engaged in a process of total transformation towards fully ecological farming through the use of natural fertilisers, good old-fashioned compost and manure, rich in organic matter, as a way of returning to the origins of ancestral agricultural production.
